Where is Partington?
Partington is a fantastic little town that sits on the border between Manchester and Cheshire. Its in the Borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester and is just a short drive away from towns such as Sale, Altrincham, Hale, Bowdon and Flixton and just across the canal from Irlam and Cadishead.
The centre itself is situated right on the main road from Junction 8 of the M60 Motorway with very easy links to the M6 and M56 motorways. The centre will be built on the entire first floor of the Partington Shopping Centre which opened just 2 years ago and provides visitors with ample parking, great shops and a small market. The first floor has lift access as well as stairs to the main space.
Like most of the UK, Partington has suffered with recent funding cuts and many families and individuals have found themselves cut off and lacking the support and opportunities they once had. The resources in the play centre provide us with a unique opportunity to fill some of those gaps with the classroom and cafe which will allow us to fund and run many courses, groups and support activities for youth and adults in the area. We plan to do this in partnership with other local service providers and ensure that we are filling gaps rather than duplicating services.
In addition to the centre itself, we recognise that the support we can provide can only go so far. For that reason we will use all of the profit generated by the centre to support other local groups to provide much needed services for all areas of the community.
